Konkani Bhasha Mandal to Celebrate Konkani Manyata Divas on August 31
Mangaluru: The Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka the organisation which is serving the cause of Konkani for the last 44 years is observing Konkani Manyata Divas on 31 August 2018 at Don Bosco Hall, Mangalore.
On this occasion, the Bhasha Mandal is organising “Inter School and College level Variety Entertainment competition”. Each Institute is given 15 minutes to perform and present Konkani cultural programmes like reciting hoviyos, songs, skits and dance. Attractive trophies and cash prizes are to be won.
The programme earlier scheduled for 20th August was postponed due to the sad demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The silver jubilee of the Konkani Manyata Divas was held last year, and on 31st the valedictory of the Silver Jubilee year will be held at the same venue at 11:30 a.m. Gilbert D’Souza, Vice President of World Konkani Centre, Mangalore will preside. Past President of
Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka will give the Manyataya Divas Message. Ca. Nandagopal Shenoy will be the Chief Guest. K. C. Prabhu, K. P. Prashanth Rao, Christopher Misquith, Prashanth Shet and Krishnanada Pai will be the Guests of honour.
Konkani Bhasha Mandal has to its credit the events like First World Konkani Convention held in Mangalore in 1995 and Akila Bharatiya Konkani Parishad.
