Kota Police Arrest 4 for Cattle Trafficking and Rescue 59 Buffaloes

Udupi: The Kota Police arrested four persons in connection with trafficking cattle and rescued 59 buffaloes near Saibarkatte check post here on July 24.

The arrested have been identified as Abdul Jabbar (35), Jomun (36) Shamsuddin (34) from Wayanad Kerala and Mukhim (18) from Haryana.

According to the police, on July 24, while the police were on patrol at Saibarkatte check post, they stopped a truck from Haryana for checking. While checking, they found 59 buffaloes loaded inhumanely in the truck.

The police arrested all the four persons in the truck and rescued 59 buffaloes from their possession.

The Kota Police have registered an FIR against the owner of the buffaloes Abdul Aziz and the truck owner Rafeeq.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused were transporting buffaloes to Kerala from Haryana.

A case has been registered in the Kota police station, and investigation is on.
