KSIC launches ‘Start Up India-Stand Up India’ Cell
Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA) launches ‘Start Up India-Stand Up India’ to nurture to the needs of SC/ST entrepreneurs, and Women.
Mangaluru: The economy of any country depends on its countrymen. Larger the number of employed or working people, better be the economy. The Indian government realized that Indian people have the potential to work hardly, all they need is, a promising start up. Many people dream of starting up their own business, but due to financial or other similar issues are unable to do so. So, Indian govt. in the leadership of Narendra Modi has decided to offer a gift as a nation wise program- “Start Up India-Stand Up India’ Scheme. “Start Up India” is a revolutionary scheme that has been started to help the people who wish to start their own business. These people have ideas and capability, so the government will give them support to make sure they can implement their ideas and grow. Success of this scheme will eventually make India, a better economy and a strong nation.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurating the Cell at the KSIC Hall, Baikampady on 7 November said, ” Among the 67 projects undertaken during PM Narendra Modi’s tenure, this Cell is one among them, and I compliment KSIC for taking up the initiative and launching it here. PM always wanted to provide assistance to SC/ST women to start up their business and be entrepreneurs. India has given to the world the best doctors, engineers, architects, scientists and other professionals, and we know that India is changing and will be one of the fastest economically growing country in the world, like China. Already 37,450 youth have secured loans under PM’s Mudra scheme. We should be proud that DK has topped the list with highest number of Jan Dhan bank accounts. Our District should achieve highest disbursal under the Start Up and Stand Up India schemes, and no bank should deny any loan requests that come through KSIC or KCCI. I am confident that KSIC and KCCI will make this project a successful one here”.
V Suresh Babu- Senior Manager of Bengaluru based National Small Scale Industries Corporation (NSIC) , Anand Kumar- Senior Manager (Credit) from Syndicate Bank Regional Office-Udupi, MSME Deputy Director M Socrates, District Industries Centre (DIC) Joint Director Gokuldas Nayak, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industries President- Jeevan Saldanha and others also spoke about the benefit of the cell and how budding entrepreneurs should all the facilities through the Scheme. Gaurav Hegde- VP of KSIC welcomed the gathering, and Ajith Kamath- Secretary, KSIC proposed the vote of thanks. A memorandum with nine demands including better roads in that Baikampady industrial area was submitted to MP Kateel by the KSIC president.
Speaking to Team Mangalorean, Henry C Britto, President of KSIC said, ” Start up INdia-Stand up INdia is a flagship scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage Entrepreneurs belonging to SC/ST and women. Under this scheme every bank branch 1.25 lakhs must give loan from Rs. 10 lakhs and Rs. 1 crore to each of above category, thus making 3.75 lakh entrepreneurs. Vulnerable sections of society always find it difficult to avail these schemes made available by the Govt. because of Bureaucratic red tapism and lethargic attitude. A small push from NGO,s will make these sections not only take up the entrepreneurial profession but also break their cycle of poverty.”
” The Cell will facilitate a link between banks, entrepreneurs and SC/ST entrepreneurs. The Cell intends to ensure that PSUs achieved the mandatory procurement target of four percent from SC/ST entrepreneurs. The Cell intends to keep SC/ST entrepreneurs updated about latest technological advancements and instill confidence in them on supplying quality products” added Britto.
He further said, “Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA) will help and nurture these people from above groups by: Taking up their case with Bankers; Giving them motivational training; Every and any form of assistance to get into business and take advantage of all the above Govt schemes by our experience and knowledge; To interact and hand hold with Govt. agencies and PSU”s to market their products by taking advantage of purchase priority schemes which has made mandatory to purchase 4% of their purchases from SC/ST entrepreneurs.
