KSRTC, Private Buses Start Services in Udupi District
Udupi: A few KSRTC and private buses have started their services within Udupi district on Wednesday, May 13 amidst the ongoing lockdown to contain COVID-19.
As Udupi district is in the green zone, the district administration has allowed the buses to operate with 50 percent of its capacity.
The Udupi district administration has permitted KSRTC and private buses to operate with 50% of the total capacity from Wednesday.
Udupi Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesh instructed that the ticket fare for travel should not exceed the amount fixed by the RTO. The passengers should use masks and also maintain social distancing.
Besides, the bus conductors and drivers should use the face mask, hand gloves and sanitisers. The buses should be sanitised entirely after the travel hours. Buses will be permitted to operate only within the district limits.
Twenty KSRTC buses and 16 private buses were permitted from Udupi to Kundapur, Kaup, Mallaru, Byndoor, Hoode, Brahmavar, Alevoor and Barkur. The travel timings are from 7 am to 7 pm.
