Kumaraswamy in Singapore for rest ahead of Karnataka poll counting

Bengaluru, May 14 (UNI) A day after the aggressively fought Karnataka Assembly polls was over, Janata Dal (S) state president H D Kumaraswamy has left for Singapore along with his son for a two-day rest.

Party sources said that the JD(S) leader, who is expected to make the key decision in the event of a fractured mandate as indicated by various Exit polls, had left for Singapore for taking some well earned rest as he had tirelessly campaigned for the party for more than a month.

Sources however said he would also undergo medical tests as he had been very tired at the end of the campaign.

Mr Kumaraswamy had undergone heart surgery twice with the latest one only months ago to replace a valve.

He left the city in the early hours today alone with his son and cinema actor Nikhil.
