Kumaraswamy Sticks to Remarks on Deepak Murder Case – JD(S)
Mangaluru: “From past four years in the district both the BJP and Congress have created communal violence. DK is known as an intellectual district but due to the communal violence here, it will be called another Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and the credit should go to the Congress government. JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy had given a statement in Mysuru about the involvement of a BJP corporater in the Deepak murder case and some channels had later telecasted that HDK had twisted his statement within three hours. HDK has not twisted his statement”, said the JD (S) district president Mohammed Kunhi in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on January 9.
Addressing the media persons Mohammed Kunhi said, “From the past five years, the ruling Congress party is responsible for the unrest in the state. The Congress government led by Siddaramaiah when coming to power said that it will ban the Bajrang Dal, PFI and SDPI but until now no action has been taken against any of the organizations. The Congress and BJP are the main cause for all the unrest and communal violence in the district”.
Mohammed Kunhi further said, “In the Deepak Rao murder case, the police arrested four persons on the same day but have not revealed who are the real culprits in this case which has created suspicion. The police have cracked the murder case of Basheer and say that the accused belong to the Sangh Parivar but in the Deepak murder case four of the accused are in police custody and they are still hesitant to announce the facts. H D Kumaraswamy has all the necessary information about Deepak’s murder, he has given the statement and demanded the government to release proper information. Being a responsible opposition leader Kumaraswamy has done his duty.”
Mohammed Kunhi also said, “It is clear that in the Basheer murder case the members of a Hindu organization are involved, but when Kumaraswamy speaks about the involvement of a BJP leader in the Deepak murder case, why is the BJP reacting against the JD(S) leader in such a way? Even the District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai alleged that Kumaraswamy has a mutual understanding with the BJP. JD(S) will not have any understanding with the BJP. Ramanath Rai and U T Khader have a mutual understanding with BJP. Ramanath Rai has fear of the JD(S) and not BJP. Dr Bharat Shetty has alleged that being the Chief General Secretary of JD(S), B M Farooq is trying to divert the case which is far from the truth. We know that B M Farooq is the brother of MLA of Mangaluru North Constituency and the allegations on B M Farooq are not correct. Why are the BJP leaders upset with the statement given by H D Kumaraswamy? Mohammed Kunhi questioned.
Mohammed Kunhi also alleged, “Siddaramaiah is touring in the name of “Sadhana Samavesh” and wasting government funds keeping the senior leaders away from party activities. Siddaramaiah has announced Rs 60 to 70 crore projects to each constituency. He will be in power for only a month. This will be his last tour but what about the projects which he has announced? Siddaramaiah should answer”.
JD(S) leaders Chandrashekhar, Akshith Suvarna, Narasimha Murthy, Vasanth Poojary, Ram Ganesh, Muneer Mukkacheri, Gopalkrishna, Srinath and Praveenchandra were also present.
