Kumaraswamy, Yeddyurappa won’t become CM: Siddaramaiah

Chikkaballapur: State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa and State JD(S) President H D Kumaraswamy will not become chief minister in the upcoming Assembly polls in April-May 2018, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

He was speaking to the media at Bagepalli, Chikkaballapur on Friday.

Siddaramaiah said, “It will be impossible for Kumaraswamy to scrap the Yettinahole project if he becomes chief minister. He refers to the project as a scam with political motives. The people of this region have to teach him a lesson”.

Yettinahole Project

Kumaraswamy had earlier remarked that he would scrap the Yettinahole project if he becomes chief minister.

The project envisages providing drinking water to Hassan, Tumakuru, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Bangalore Rural and Ramanagaram districts by constructing small dams.

Gowda’s nepotism

JD(S) National President Deve Gowda who had said that it is his desire to see Kumaraswamy as the next chief minister, hasn’t so far said that he will make a dalit chief minister.

“For him family is more important than social justice,” Siddaramaiah alleged.

Mahadayi dispute

As for the Mahadayi dispute, “Yeddyuraappa who had assured that he would resolve it by December 15, has failed. Now he is referring to me in the singular because he is desperate,” Siddaramaiah claimed.
