Kumble Police Arrest 6 in Abdul Salam Murder Case

Kasargod: The Kumble police have arrested 6 persons on May 4, in connection with the murder case of 22-year-old Abdul Salam.

The arrested have been identified as Siddique (39) from Badriya, Ummer Farooq (29) from Peral, Sahir (32) from Peruvad, Niyaz (31) from Peral, Haris (29) from Bambrana and Lathif (36) from Maliyangara.

On April 29, night Abdul Salam along with his three friends had gone to Siddique’s house. There, they misbehaved with Siddique’s wife and mother. Siddique who was very angry at the time did not react instead, he planned to kill Abdul Salam.

According to the plan, Siddique called Abdul Salam to come to Peruvad for mutually settling the matter. Abdul Salam along with his friend Naushad went to Peruvad to meet Siddique but Siddique’s gang was already waiting to finish Abdul Salam. As soon as they reached the planned spot, Siddique’s gang attacked Abdul Salam and severed his head. They also assaulted Naushad and fled from the spot. It is learnt that a dispute in their dealing in the sand was the main cause for the murder.

The police are searching for two more persons accused in the murder case. The accused had burnt their blood-stained clothes at Kuntageradka crematorium. Police have seized the weapons used for the crime from their possession.

Siddique is a BMS activist and was involved in auto driver Dayanand’s murder case. Ummer Farooq was also involved in the murder of a youth in Kumble.
