Kundapur: Development Projects of Amasebail Charitable Trust launched

Kundapur: Various development projects initiated by the Amasebail Charitable Trust in association with Amasebail GramaPanchayat, Zilla Panchayat Udupi, Taluk Panchayat Kundapur, Backward Class and Minority Welfare Department, APMCKundapur, Karnataka Bank Mangaluru and Shri Dharmasthala Rural development project were inaugurated at Amasebail here on Friday, April 10.

The dignitaries inaugurated different developmental projects like Backward Class Girls’ Hostel, a bus stand, an agricultural market, a bio-gas plant, drinking water facility, autorickshaw stand and a taxi stand on the occasion.

Besides these, foundation stone was also laid for the construction of a fish market on the occasion. Anantha Krishna, the Chairman of Karnataka Bank Mangaluru, inaugurated the stage programme by lighting the lamp.

In his inaugural message, Ananatha Krishna lauded the efforts of the Amasebail Charitable Trust for its selfless work towards Amesebail village and also extended his support from Karnataka Bank.

In his message, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and District Minister In-charge, opined that cooperation from everyone is needed for the overall development of the villages. Varahi Irrigation Project, a long-pending demand of the farmers, is nearing realisation after 35 years. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has agreed to inaugurate the first phase of theVarahi Irrigation Project on April 20. “After the inauguration, water will be released regularly in both the canals, which will be helpful to the farmers,” he said.

Speaking on the Kasturirangan report, he said that the state government is firm on its stand of not isolating the people and ruining their lives. A detailed report will be sent to the central government with the views and opinion of the people, he added.

“The government is finalising its report after consulting and recording the opinion of the people. The decision of the government on the Kasturirangan Report will be given in the month of April.”

Former Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde presided over the function. Amasebailu Charitable trust Chairmen A G Kodgi,Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, MLC Kota Shrinivas Poojary, Prathapchandra Shetty, MLA Haladi ShrinivasShetty, Gopal Poojary, SDCC Bank Mangaluru Chairman M N Rajendra Kumar, Executive director SKRDPD Dr L H Manjunath,Kundapur TP president Bhaskar Billava, Amasebail Grama Panchayat president Sadasiva Shetty, Githanjali Suvarna and others were present.
