Hitting hard on former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy for his comments on Rahul Gandhi saying he wants him to meet farmers in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah said that Rahul is meeting farmers at various places and Kumaraswamy need not advise him on the same. “The Congress is a party which lives up to the aspirations of the farmers and realizes their dreams. Rahul will visit Karnataka also in the coming days,” he added.

He said that appointments have been made to various boards and corporations, and the rest will be filled soon. He declined rumors on the complaints filed to the high command against him and KPCC president Dr Parameshwar.

When asked on the revival of the Bramhavar Sugar factory, he said that he will hold necessary consultations with the farmers and experts, and then decide on the same. “The Varahi project has a link with the Bramhavar sugar factory. A viability report will be sought from the experts,” he added.

Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development; M B Patil, Minister for Water Resources and others were present.
