Kundapur: Tension flared up again in Gangolli after a shop and car were pelted with stones and set on fire by the miscreants late night on Tuesday January 19.
Educational institutions and commercial complexes were shut down following the incident in Gangolli.
The shop owned by Venkatesh Shenoy named Venkateshwara Stores was set on fire late night by miscreants. The police visited the spot and are investigating the case.
SP Annamalai and other police officials visited the spot and have initiated further steps to curb the tension in Gangolli.
Gangolli which is known for frequent communal clashes had witnessed communal tension last month when a commercial complex belonging to another community was set on fire.
