Kundapur: Viability Report to Discuss on Revival of Bramhavar Sugar Factory Sought – Oscar Fernandes

Kundapur: A viability report on the revival of Bramhavar sugar factory has been sought from experts and after thorough consultations a decision will be made, said Oscar Fernandes, MP Rajya Sabha. He was addressing the mediapersons at the Green Valley International School, Shiroor on his visit to lay the foundation for various projects under ‘Adarsh Sansad Grama’ here on April 18.

The purpose of Varahi irrigation project was to cultivate sugarcane required for crushing in the Bramhavar Sugar factory. The factory then had required 1200 tons of sugarcane to be crushed, if the factory is revived the factory will require 2500 tons of sugarcane. The purpose of speeding of Varahi irrigation project was to boost agricultural cultivation in the district. The experts review that sugarcane can be grown and has more profit while compared to paddy.

Expert report is necessary for deciding any further course of action in the revival of the factory. The volatility report on the factory will be tabled before the government and the an effective decision will be taken, he added.

Presenting the report on the implementation of the programme implemented under ‘Adarsh Sansad Grama’ he said that the Petekeri road will be constructed costing Rs 43 lakh, road construction of Muslim Keri costing Rupees 7 lakh and Rupees 50 lakh for various purpose of Government Hospital, Shiroor. Projects will be partnered with Syed Abdul Khader Bashu a renowned entrepreneur of Shiroor, he added.

The newly constructed bridge on way to fisheries road was inaugurated by T B Jayachandra, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Law and Parliamentary Affairs and H K Patil, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development.

Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and Minister in-charge District; Ramanath Rai, Minister for Forests; U T Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare; Abhayachandra Jain, Minister for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Affairs; Pratapchandra Shetty, MLC; MLA Gopal Poojary; Basavaraj and others were present.
