Kuwait Superstars to take Bahrain by Strom on Sept 29
Kuwait: Much acclaimed Konkani musical show ‘TIATRISTPONN DEVACHEM DENNEM’ which has captured hearts of Goan audiences in Wembley, Swindon, Kuwait and Qatar, etc, is set to take Bahrain by storm Thursday 29th September 2016 at Baan Saeng Thai Auditorium, Bahrain, starting 8:00 pm onwards.
Well-known Goan musician Maestro Shahu Almeida will lead a cream of Goan and Kuwait-based artistes to Bahrain first time ever.
The troupe consists of some of Kuwait’s seasoned stars Gracy Morais, Clemmie Pereira, Laurente Pereira, Bab Agnel, Katty de Navelim, Kuwait Trio Kings Cajetan de Sanvordem, Mario de Majorda and Michael D’Silva.
Mangalorean movie fame star Comedian Lucy Aranha and Comedian Nelson will add sparkle to the night with their rib-tickling comedy skits.
SEBY DE DIVAR TO DELIGHT AS WELL
Celebrated Goan singer Seby de Divarwill be flown in for the show and is expected to delight Bahrain Goans with his trademark songs.
Bahrain’s popular singer Francis Sequeira is also expected to perform in the show.
UNIQUE OPENING CHORUS
The opening chorus of ‘TIATRISTPONN DEVACHEM DENNEM’ is something very innovative and highly talked about by people who have seen the musical. Maestro Shahu has been highly commended for the uniquely-styled chorus; for sure it shouldn’t be missed by the audience.

KUWAIT TRIO
The Kuwait Trio is second to none among global Konkani stage singers. The famous trio comprises of:
– The ‘Thespian of Goan Stage’ Cajetan de Sanvordem – a Kala Academy Award winner for Best Actor and Konkani Bhasha Mandal’s Best Singer Award winner. Cajetan is a star in almost all shows in Kuwait and performs regularly for top Goan directors across the Konkani global stage.
– Mario de Majorda is one of the established stalwarts of Konkani Stage in Kuwait. He came to Kuwait in 1983 and has been active on stage ever since.
– Michael D’Silva has been performing on stage since 1994. Known for his poetic and rhythmic songs, Michael remains one of the most popular singers around.
LAURENTE PEREIRA
Laurente has an audio and a video CD to his credit entitled ‘Goenchi Mati’ and ‘Tovui Ek Munis’ respectively. Both albums are well accepted by Konkani fans and the singer appreciated for his great singing.
Laurente has staged mega Konkani dramas in Kuwait such as ‘Tuje Upkar’, ‘Lokhachim Thonddam Bondh’ and ‘Hea Gharachim Dharam Bondh’.
KATTY DE NAVELIM
Katty de Navelim is a Goan singer regularly seen on stage in Kuwait. He has 2 audio albums to his credit.
Katty has acted and sung in professional dramas all over Goa. His performance in the lead role in Patrick Dourado’s famous non-stop drama ‘Bhavacho Cheddo’ remains his best performance till date.
BAB AGNEL
Melodious singer Bab Agnel hails from Goa Velha.
Over the years Bab Agnel has sung for legendary tiatrists such as Prem Kumar, Chris Perry, H. Briton, Rosary Ferns, C. Alvares, etc, and has featured in almost all shows staged in Kuwait.
Bab Agnel has produced 3 Konkani audio albums – ‘MogakLagon’ (1983), ‘Moth’ (2005), and ‘Gath Apleak Sontos Peleak’ (2009). He has travelled all across the Middle-East Gulf and the UK to perform in Konkani shows.
Recently in March 2014, Tiatr Academy – Goa felicitated Bab Agnel in their special program – ‘Meet the Artiste’.
GRACY MORAIS
Gracy has been in the limelight in dramas right from age 4. A Kala Academy Award Winner for Best Child Artiste and Best Actress, she is well-known for her award-winning performances at various stage competitions in Goa and Kuwait.
Gracy features on stage, in videos, and other platforms. One of her best performances has been in T-Bush’s E-cinema ‘Black’.
The awards Gracy has won in singing at Kala Academy and other State level competitions in Goa speak volumes about her singing capability.
CLEMMIE PEREIRA
Clemmie is a beautifully voiced singer promising to strike it big on Konkani stage. Clemmie sings to great perfection and style, she is sure to leave an impression in Bahrain simply by her elegance on stage.
MANGALOREAN STAR LUCY ARANHA & COMEDIAN NELSON
The comedy pair of Lucy Aranha and Nelson is well-recognized in Kuwait for their hilarious comedy, colourful attire and Goan-Mangalorean dialects. They are a hit.
MAESTRO SHAHU
Recently awarded the ‘Most Natural Goan Musician’ in Kuwait, Maestro Shahu hypnotises his audience to a magical sway. Having played all over the globe, the magical musician orchestrates on his favourite keyboard as well as the saxophone.
One can say Maestro Shahu has given a new dimension to Goan music. Although he is more popular only in Kuwait, Shahu has played for the majority of Goan directors and has directed his own musical shows (in Kuwait) for a number of years now.
