KVWA Celebrates Monti Fest 2017
Kuwait: Kundapur Varado Welfare Association [KVWA] celebrated the Annual Feast on the occasion of Nativity of Our Blessed Virgin Mary on Thursday, 14th September 2017 at the Indian Community School Hall [Amman Branch]. The programme began at 7:30 pm with a warm welcome to all guests by President Donald Mendonca. The entire programme revolved around the central theme of the function being Our Blessed Mother Mary. There was an opening hymn sung by all with a procession formed mainly by children with colourful flower petals. The prayer and hymn was conducted by Leena. A beautifully decorated statue of Our Lady was then placed on the stage after which children and elders alike showered flower petals with hymns to our Blessed Mother.
After the guests were seated, cake, snacks and juice were served. The programme was well conducted by MC Rilson, who kept the guests entertained with his lively and interactive compering. Various spot prizes were given to the guests who answered questions based on Mother Mary and other spot games. The benefactors and sponsors of KVWA were given flower bouquets by Donald Mendonca to acknowledge their kindness and patronage towards the objectives of KVWA. Momentos were given away as a mark of appreciation and gratitude to all the programme sponsors. Children presented rocking performances of dances in a duet and group format on remix dance numbers. The KVWA Report was presented to the guests by Treasurer Rainer Crasta. Some melodious songs were sung by Roshan Oliveira, one of the popular Gulf Voice that was enjoyed by all present. Games were organized for both kids and adults to offer enjoyable moments to one and all. A game of Housie was played and wonderful gifts were given away as prizes. Alistair Dias said the prayer of gratitude and grace before meals. The traditional style of lunch was served to all the guests prepared by Nancy. After lunch, the guests relished the delicious ‘vorn’ served as dessert.
The programme ended with the Raffle Draw, consisting of an array of attractive gifts. The vote of thanks was delivered by Starell. We wish to thank all the Committee members and guests for making this celebration a heartwarming and memorable one. We thank Our Blessed Mother for bringing all together in a spirit of affection to continue their support towards KVWA and its objectives of helping the needy and less fortunate people back home in India.
