Lady Goschen New Hospital to be Inaugurated on March 23 – Veerappa Moily
Mangaluru: “The newly constructed Lady Goschen Hospital will be inaugurated on March 23, as per the date fixed by the Minister for Health and family welfare K R Ramesh Kumar”, said the MP of Chikballapur constituency Veerappa Moily, during his visit to inspect the construction work of the new hospital, here on January 4.
Veerappa Moily visited the new hospital building and met the concerned authorities. Later speaking to the mediapersons said, “The work is in progress and the construction work is going on well. ONGC and MRPL have sanctioned Rs 21.75 crore towards the construction of the new hospital. Last time when I had visited, there was good progress in the construction work. So far Rs 17 crore have been spent out of Rs 21 crores. We need to call for a tender for the pending work. The state government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for the remaining electrical fittings and other work. The tender process is underway and all work will be completed and operational by March”.
Moily also said, “As per the assurance of the health minister to inaugurate the new block on March 23, all measures have been taken. The work will be completed in time and the Lady Goschen Hospital will be operational for the public”.
