Large sum of demonetised notes seized from rowdy sheeter’s house
Bengaluru: Police raided the house of V Nagaraj, a former rowdy sheeter and ex BBMP corporator and seized large sum of demonetised notes.
Based on a complaint by Umesh, Hennur police raided the house and seized large sum of demonetised notes in Rs 500 and Rs 1,000. Exact amounted is yet to be known.
Umesh had regisitered a complaint stating that Nagaraj has cheated him in money exchange racket. The complainant even alleged that he was even abducted by the former rowdy.
Based on this complaint police raided his house in Srirampura area.
Naga who is wanted in more than 45 cases managed escape even before the police could reach his home.
Besides banned currency, lethal weapons were also found in his five storey house cum office.
Search is still continuing.
Police said that Pravin Kumar, son in law of former Legislative Council Chairman Veeranna Mattikatti was also a part of the exchange raacket. Kumar is said to have sought the help of former rowdy sheeter to exchange demonetised notes.
Former rowdy sheeter’s wife Lakshi who was at home is said to be not cooperating with the police.
