Law and Order Situation has Collapsed in State – KPCC working president Saleem Ahmed
Udupi: The law and order situation in Karnataka has collapsed, and the government has failed to solve the drug scandal said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working President Saleem Ahmed.
While speaking at a press meet held at the District Congress Bhavan on Sunday, September 13, Saleem Ahmed said that, instead of issuing statements, the government should conduct an impartial probe into the drug scandal and punish all those involved in it.
Saleem Ahmed further said that 25 Lok Sabha members from the state lack the courage to speak before Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Centre is discriminating against Karnataka in paying the share in the GST collection. However, the BJP leaders in the state are not questioning the Centre in this regard.
Saleem also said that, while the state demanded Rs 50,000-cr flood relief package, the Union government released only Rs 1,800 crore.
The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting on September 16 will discuss the issues that need to be raised in the upcoming monsoon session of the Karnataka legislature. Already, the Congress MLAs and MLCs have sent over 1,300 questions to the government, seeking answers during the session. The issues pertaining to the drug scandal, riots at D J Halli, amendment to Land Reforms Act, APMC act and modification of labour laws will be raised in the session, he added.
Former Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, District Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Congress leaders MA Gafoor, Manjunath Bhandary, Veronica Cornelio and others were present.
