Laxman Nimbargi Takes Charge as SP of Belagavi
Belagavi: IPS officer Laxman Nimbargi assumed charge as the new Superintendent of Police of Belagavi district here on Friday.
Out-going Superintendent of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy handed over the charge to Nimbargi at the Police Bhavan.
The 2014 batch IPS officer and native of Benakanahalli village in Indi taluk in Vijaypur district, Nimbargi holds an engineering degree in electronics from BVB College of Engineering & Technology, Hubballi. He initially served as a probationary officer in Dakshin Kannada, Assistant Superintendent of Police in Chitradurga, Superintendent of Police in Udupi and as SP (Wireless) in Bengaluru. Before being posted to Belagavi, he had been serving as the SP in Ballari district.
In an informal chat with media persons, Nimbargi said that his priority would be to maintain law and order in the district. He said he was new to the district and would first study the district and act as per the law.
