Laxman Nimbargi takes charge as new SP of Udupi

Udupi: Laxman Nimbargi took charge as the Superintendent of Police of Udupi district from the Outgoing Superintendent of Police Dr Sanjeev M Patil at the District Police Office here on Monday, January 1.
The new superintendent of police Laxman Nimbargi from Benakanahalli in Indi taluk in Vijayapura district belongs to the IPS 2014 cadre. He completed his primary and secondary education at the Government High School, Savadatti, in Belagavi district and pursued his pre-university studies and degree in Engineering in Hubballi.
He served as a probationer in Dakshina Kannada and worked in Bantwal and Uppinangady. He was posted as ASP of Chitradurga in September 2016.
He was a trend-setter in UPSC civil service examinations by writing the entire examination in Kannada in 2013, where he secured the 104th rank. His optional was Kannada Literature. He had studied in Kannada medium from 1st to 10th standard.
Before taking charge Laxman Nimbargi was given a guard of honour when he arrived at the District Police Office.
Outgoing Superintendent of Police Dr Sanjeev M Patil has been transferred to the administration Bengaluru as DCP.
The order had been issued by the state government on Saturday, December 30.
