Legal Aid Clinic launched at ART Centre-KMC, Attavar
Mangaluru: The Legal Aid Clinic at A.R.T Centre, KMC Hospital Attavar Mangaluru was launched on Saturday 15th July, 2017: District Legal Service Authority- Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru Bar Association ® and District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCO) in association with KMC Hospital Attavar launched this “Free Legal Aid Clinic” for HIV victims at A.R.T. (Anti-Retroviral Treatment) Centre 2nd floor KMC Hospital Attavar, Mangaluru.
Chief Guest Mallana Gowda, Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Dakshina Kannada District inaugurated the Clinic, along Sundara Poojary, Deputy Director of Women and Child Welfare Department-D.K. District, Smt. Pushpalatha, Lawyer and Vice President of Mangaluru Bar Association, Dr. Badruddhin M.N., District AIDS Control Officer , District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit( DAPCU)- D.K. District, and Dr. John T. Ramapuram, Professor of Medicine and Nodal officer ART Centre- KMC Hospital Attavar, who were the guests of honor for the occasion.
The function was presided over by Dr. Anand Venugopal, Medical Superintendent of KMC Hospitals Mangaluru. H. V. Raghavendra, Advocate and Legal Counselor, ART Centre, KMC Hospital Attavar, Smt. Anita Kini, Lawyer and Legal Counselor of ART Centre at District Wenlock Hospital Mangaluru and Smt. Saritha Hegde, District Supervisor, District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) were also present on the occasion.
ART Centre at KMC Hospital Attavar is the only Public-Private Partnered Centre in the District which facilitates free HIV Counseling and Testing, Free medicines for HIV victims and other provisions as provided by Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society (KSAPS). H. V. Raghavendra, Advocate, Mangaluru will be the Legal counselor in the Legal Aid Clinic and is available on every Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at ART Centre, KMC Hospital-Attavar.
