Leopard trapped in Gundupade near Pernakila
Udupi: A leopard which was triggering panic among the people living near the forest areas of Pernakila has been trapped by the Forest Department officials on January 27.
Responding to the complaints by locals, the department had placed a cage in front of the residence of Philomena Pinto at Gundupade near Pernakila. The leopard was found trapped in the cage in the early hours of Friday, Forest department sources said.
After receiving the information Forest officer Ganapati Naik and his team visited the spot. Wildlife veterinarian examined the animal and found it in good health without any injury marks on its body. Hence, it was released in the forest later.
