Leopard Trapped in Cage in Padubidri, Released into Forest
Udupi: A female leopard was trapped in Santhoor, Padubidri on August 20 late night.
Ravi Shetty of Santhoor had complained to the forest department that a leopard was sighted in his field during the last two weeks, and demanded the forest department to trap it. As per the Ravi Shetty’s demand, the forest officials placed a cage to trap the leopard.
On Thursday late night, locals found the leopard trapped in the cage and informed the forest officials.
As the news spread, villagers gathered in large numbers at the spot. Later, officials took the cage in a vehicle and released the leopard into the deep forest area.
