Let Gowda win from Varuna if he has guts says Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah challenged Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to contest and win from the Varuna constituency seat in Mysore– “if he has the guts”.

The CM said that his son Dr Yathindra would contest from the Varuna constituency in the upcoming Assembly polls “if the party gives him a ticket”.

“I challenge Sadananda Gowda to contest and win against him if he has the courage,” Siddaramaiah said.

“Why should I be afraid just because Sadananda Gowda is made in-charge of the constituency? What does he know about the constituency? In the last election, I have won by a margin of 32,000 votes. Just because Sadananda Gowda is made in-charge, will that change?” he asked media persons who met him.

“If it is so convenient for the BJP, let Sadananda Gowda contest, instead of someone else,” he remarked.

Cong candidates’ list during last week of January 2018 says Siddaramaiah
Tumakuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the list of Congress candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls would be published during the last week of January 2018.

Speaking before inaugurating development projects in Madhugiri, in Tumakuru district on Sunday, the CM told reporters that he was not concerned with when other parties announce their list of candidates.

“The list of Congress candidates is more in number. So there will be a minor delay.”

Siddaramaiah said that KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara would host the party convention, while he as the Chief Minister, would participate in development-related programs on behalf of the government.

He said that BJP’s Parivathana Yatre had failed completely, despite BJP leaders’ claims to the contrary.
