Let HC Chief Justice Order to Solve Pending Cases within 24 Hours – MLC Boje Gowda
Mangaluru: “The Chief Justice of Bengaluru High Court has ordered the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to fill all the potholes within 24 hours in the city as they are posing danger to the public. It is a plea from the public that the roads are in a pathetic condition in Bengaluru and many have lost their lives. They have filed a PIL petition in the court and a division bench comprising of the Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari has ordered to fill all the potholes within 24 hours. As I know there are many cases pending in the court and innocent people are facing problems. I request the Chief justice to also order the concerned authorities to solve all the pending cases within 24 hours”, said MLC Bojegowda in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on September 20.
Addressing the mediapersons Boje Gowda said, “We are seeing the hoardings of MLA, MP and MLCs everywhere, which should be removed. If any MLA, MP or MLCs do the development work in any of the wards, they carry their photographs and install hoardings or banners in the bus stops or in that areas. MLAs, MPs and MLCs do not spend from their pocket for the development of their constituency. They spend government funds collected from the taxpayers. Erecting hoardings of projects along with their photographs should be stopped. If they want to put the photographs along with the project let them spend their own money, spending government money and taking credit is not right”
Boje Gowda further said, “The Chief Justice of the High Court has ordered to fill the potholes within 24 hours but it is practically not possible to fill all the potholes within 24 hours with quality work, but I welcome the order of the Chief Justice. Likewise, there are hundreds of cases pending in the High Court, I urge the CJ to order the cases to be disposed of in a similar way. Being a Bar council member I request the Chief Justice to issue an order to dispose of all the pending cases in the high court. If the Chief Justice takes interest to help the people who are suffering because of Court cases, it will be a good thing. The government has provided good infrastructure and also good residence to the Judges. There has been a delay in appointing judges in the High court. If we fill the vacancies in the High court, cases will be disposed of faster. The bar council members have requested the Supreme court to appoint judges to the high court which will be done soon.”
Boje Gowda also said, “The policy of transferring teachers should be changed. If the teachers are transferred during the middle of the academic year, they will face the problems. Before implementing the transfer orders of the teachers the matter should be discussed. I have already met the education minister and discussed the transfer policy of the teachers. The transfer policy is unscientific and it should be corrected. All the government schools should be upgraded. Students should learn other languages too along with Kannada because if they learn English and Hindi they will have a better future. Kannada activists should understand that other languages are also important for the students. Let the Kannada activists introspect, I am not sure if their children and grandchildren are studying in Kannada medium Government Schools!”
JD(S) District President Mohammed Kunhi, Former Minister Amarnath Shetty and JD(S) District Youth President Akshith Suvarna were also present.
