Let IT dept file Suo Moto case Against Yeddyurappa – Ivan D’Souza
Mangaluru: “Former Chief minister Yeddyurappa alleged that the CM has paid Rs 1000 crore bribe to the Congress High command to stay in power which is a serious allegation. We have not paid any bribe to the high command, we have also asked Yeddyurappa to provide evidence but he has failed to provide it. We have received a Video Clip from the BJP members about the conversation between Yeddyurappa and the Union Minister Ananth Kumar about taking this issue politically. The Income Tax department has not revealed such issue to anyone, how come Yeddyurappa came to know about the bribe? It is a question mark for the Income tax department. In this connection the Income tax department should file a Suo Moto case against Yeddyurappa”, said Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza in a press meet held at his office here on February 16.
He further said, “Yeddyurappa had alleged that the money which was given to the high command has been entered in the record book of the Income Tax department. Former CM Yeddyurappa, being the president of the party, before putting such allegations on anyone should have proper evidence. If they have any evidence let Yeddyurappa present it. The statement by Yeddyurappa shows that he has a connection with the IT department. When the CM asked for details about the allegations, the IT department refused to provide any information, how come Yeddyurappa received such information? This shows that the former CM is misusing the IT department for political gains. They are targetting only the congress leaders and using the department politically.
Ivan also said, “Lokayukta has registered 15 cases of corruption against Yeddyurappa which are now in the Supreme court. In Such a situation he should not talk about corruption, “corruption then, corruption now”, they talk only about corruption, they preach and practice corruption. BJP does not have any morality to talk about corruption. BJP is doing hit-and-run politics. Let the BJP prove their allegations. The BJP is trying to destabilise the congress government by putting false allegations. We have full evidence about the conversation of Yeddyurappa with Union Minister Ananth Kumar. Let Modi investigate the video clippings and know the truth. The BJP is misusing the central agencies for their benefit. Their intention is to defame the congress. The IT department should file a Suo Moto case against Yeddyurappa and take strict action. Lokayukta should also register a case against Yeddyurappa and investigate it”.
