Life threat to Toll Gate Staff at Suratkal, Accused Arrested
Mangaluru: The Suratkal police have arrested a man for threatening the toll gate staff with a pistol at NITK toll gate here on November 28.
The arrested has been identified as Rafiq (36) from Kasargod, Kerala.
According to sources, on November 28, at around 12:40 pm, a Kerala Registered car driven by Rafiq was passing through the Suratkal Tollgate. When the toll gate staff asked for toll, Rafiq refused to pay and also argued with the woman staff.
Another toll gate staff Yajnesh Karkera advised Rafiq to pay the toll, losing control Rafiq took out a pistol from the car and threatened Yajnesh saying, “If you have the courage take the toll from me, if you come near me I will kill you”.
In this connection, a case was filed in Suratkal police station under section 506 (2) and section 25 Indian Arms Act.
The Suratkal police got into action and arrested the accused and seized the pistol from his possession.
