Mumbai, Feb 23 (IANS) Former Spice Girl Mel B says she does not dislike anything about herself.
“I like everything about myself because I have no choice. It is what it is. You have to love the skin you’re in,” Mel B told dailymail.co.uk.
She is mixed race and has encountered racist attitudes at different points in her life. The former Spice Girl identified racism as the thing she dislikes most in the world.
“Anybody of colour will have experienced racism at some point in their life and I definitely have – I’m not fully black and I’m not fully white. I am a mix and people get confused,” the singer added.
“2 Become 1” crooner is hugely proud of the incredible success she has enjoyed during her career and in particular, her record-breaking experiences with Spice Girls.
What’s more, she is thrilled that the band have remained so close since they went their separate ways.
“To have five girls, from all different walks of life, who are still friends 20 years later – that’s an achievement,” she said.
Charli XCX defends Kanye West following Twitter rant
Following rapper Kanye West’s Twitter rant, singer Charli XCX has defended him by saying that everyone has “the right to speak their own minds.”
“I think artists have the right to speak their own minds, always,” she said.
XCX also pointed out that it’s free for everyone to express their feeling without being censored, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“You know. I don’t think anyone should be censored,” she added.
At the same time, the 23-year-old songstress explained her opinion on wearing fur.
Despite attending Yeezy’s fur-heavy New York Fashion Show last week, she hinted that she strictly disagreed with people who wore fur.
“I don’t wear fur. I’ve become more educated about fur. When I was younger I probably would have worn it in shoots without realising the ethics behind it,” the “Boom clap” hitmaker said.
“But now, I actively don’t. There are some things I’ve heard that have been really upsetting. So I’m still learning but I actively try not to wear it,” she added.
Earlier this month, West insulted his former girlfriend Amber Rose during his feud with rapper Wiz Khalifa on Twitter.
West slammed Rose, who was also Khalifa’s former girlfriend and his child’s mother, and mentioned her son Sebastian. A few days later, West claimed Bill Cosby was innocent before declaring that he had $53 million debt.
Eddie Redmayne praises wife
Oscar winning actor Eddie Redmayne thinks his wife Hannah Bagshawe is a “wonder” for the way she supports him and his career.
“She is an absolute wonder. Because the work I do is all encompassing, when I am prepping for it she is a massive part of that,” Redmayne told Daily Telegraph magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
His wife has been by his side throughout award season and the “Theory of Everything” actor appreciates her support.
“It is so lovely to do it as a team,” he said.
Bagshawe, 34, is an expert in antiques and gave up working for a prestigious dealer and set out on her own so that she could be available to travel with her spouse at the drop of a hat, which he is thrilled by.
“Working for her old boss, it used to complicate things if we had to go to LA for the day; it is wonderful she can now travel all the time,” he said.
The couple announced last month that they are expecting their first child in June and the “Danish Girl” star is now preparing for his new role as a parent and will be “taking some time out” from movies after a busy and successful period.
He said: “I’m looking forward to the breather to take it all in.”
‘Game of Thrones’ isn’t escapism: Natalie Dormer
Actress Natalie Dormer thinks fantasy drama TV series “Game of Thrones” is not for people who watch TV as a form of escapism.
Dormer, who stars as Margaery Tyrell on the show, knows it is unlikely to appeal to people who wish to put their everyday concerns behind them, because of its graphic depiction of sex and violence, reports mirror.co.uk.
“All I know is that I turn on the news, and it’s covering a boy drowning off the coast, or children being shown beheading videos. The horror of human nature is prevalent in our world, and I appreciate that some people want to turn on the telly for escapism – but if that’s what you want, don’t watch ‘Game of Thrones’,” Dormer told Sunday Times magazine.
“I choose fantasy to vent, to process complex political, sexual and social politics at the safe distance of fiction. For me, that’s what art should be,” she added.
Kris Jenner ‘proud’ of Kanye West
Reality TV star Kris Jenner is not worried about her son-in-law and rapper Kanye West’s Twitter outburst and feels his behaviour will not “damage the Kardashian brand”. She is said to be proud of West.
“Kris Jenner adores Kanye and is proud to have him part of her family. All these reports about Kris and the family worrying about Kanye hurting their brand are 1,00,000 percent false – unequivocally false,” etonline.com quoted a source as saying.
West, who is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, caused a riot on social media last week when he was hounded for saying he made singer Taylor Swift famous.
However, amid rumours that Kris was annoyed at him for making the family look bad, she praised him at his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show in New York.
“He’s so talented, and he’s got such a great vision. He’s such an amazing force of creation when he’s in the studio, and he’s doing — not the music studio, which is also another whole side of him that’s so amazing with his new album, and everything else going on — but how he creates clothing,” she said.
“That whole process is fascinating to me, because he’s really got just a great perspective on fashion, and I am very inspired by that,” she added.

She later tagged Erik as a “naughty boy”.
