J R Lobo and Congress Leaders Meet Vendors and Public for Support to Bharat Bandh on Sept 10

Mangaluru: Former MLA J R Lobo along with the Congress leaders and party workers visited various places in mangaluru on September 9, and requested the vendors, Bus drivers and the public to actively participate in Bharat Bandh on September 10.

Former MLA Lobo along with District youth Congress president Mithun Rai, KPCC General Secretary P V Mohan, leaders and party workers gathered in front of the DCC office in Mallikatta. They first visited the Kadri Market and requested all the vendors to support the bandh being held on September 10. All the vendors promised their full support for the bandh and agreed to close their businesses.

Speaking to mangalorean.com J R Lobo said, “The price for fuel is all time high in our country. The price for a litre of Diesel is Rs 74.22 and Petrol is Rs 82. The common man is suffering because of the hike in the price of fuel. The price of cooking gas has also been hiked. Due to the price hike many people are already facing financial crisis. But the NDA government led by Modi is not bothered to listen to the grievances of the people. Every day the price for fuel is being hiked. The Congress party strongly condemns the hike in fuel price”.

Lobo further said, “We will visit all the vendors in the city and request them to join hands with us to make the Bandh successful. Today we have visited the vendors in the Kadri Market and they have agreed to join hands with us. We will also visit the shopping malls and request them to join hands with us by shutting their businesses on September 10. This is a major problem which is faced by the majority of the people in the district. I request all the people of Dakshina Kannada to voluntarily close down their businesses for a day and make this bandh successful.”

President of District Youth Congress Mithun Rai said, “We have visited all the Colleges, Autorickshaw association, Bus owners association and all the vendors and requested them to participate in the Bandh. We are protesting against the anti-peoples’ policy of the BJP government. Hope the bandh will surely be successful.”

KPCC General Secretary P V Mohan also spoke on the occasion. Later the Congress leaders along with the party workers proceeded to City Centre Mall to request the vendors and people there to support the bandh.
