Local Fishermen Rescue Man from Committing Suicide Jumping into Netravathi River

Mangaluru: The locals rescued a man who had jumped into the Netravathi River to commit suicide here on August 4.

Girish (32), a native of Kadur presently residing at Urwa Stores attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the Netravathi River.

According to the police, on August 4, when the local fishermen saw a man jumping into the Netravathi river, they immediately rushed to help and rescued him.

Girish has been shifted to the Indiana hospital for treatment, he is now out of danger.

After the incident, an additional police team has been deployed on the Netravathi bridge for patrolling.
