Lockdown in DK- 7 arrested for Violating Section 144 in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: The Mangaluru police have arrested seven persons for violating section 144 and the lockdown orders in the city here on March 24.
The arrested have been identified as James (45) from Hassan District, Vimesha (30) from Chikkamagaluru, Ameera from UP, Balaram Chowdri (32) from Rajasthan. Rahul Panday (18) from Assam, Siddiq from Ullal and Vinay from Thokkttu.
On March 23, the CM announced the lockdown of the entire state as there was a fear of the COVID – 19 spreading. Section 144 was also imposed, and the DC’s of respective states had announced strict action against anyone violating the lockdown orders.
After all the warnings and announcements, some people were still not serious about the situation. All the seven persons were arrested under section 71 KP act for violating the Magisterial orders and directions of the police officers on duty. The police from Central Sub Division arrested James, Vimesh, Ameera, Balaram Chowdri and Rahul Panday. The police from the South Sub Division arrested Siddiq and Vinay.
