Louis Lobo to join Congress on April 22 at Royal Garden, Udupi

Udupi: Louis Lobo who started his political journey in 2002 through the JD(S) Karnataka and has worked there for over a decade will join the Congress Party here on 22 April 2018 at the Congress conclave to be held at the Royal Garden.

After retiring from the bank, he plunged into politics through the JD(S) in 2002 and held the Office of District Minority President, State Minority wing convener, District Vice President of the parent body and also served as Election Agent for the Udupi Lok Sabha Candidate. Due to the internal differences within the party, he has resigned from the Primary Membership of the party immediately of the last Vidhana Sabha Elections.

Apart from politics, he was into so many other fields like religious, social and other service organizations. He was the President of the Catholic Sabha of Kalmady Church for two terms, Vice President of the Parish Council for two terms and was also the convener of the Church Building Committee of the newly built Stella Maris Church, Kalmady. He was an active member of the Komu Sahaurda Vedike, Dalitha Damanitha Vedike, Alpa Sankhyatha Vedike etc. He was the Founder President of the International Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations of Udupi District (IFKCA) for 4 years. During his stewardship, a massive protest was held against the final report of the Justice Somashekar Commission on Church Attack. Also organized the Christian Community Businessmen and formed the Karavali Christian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Regd).

After a long holiday of 4 years, Louis Lobo has now started his second innings in politics through the Congress Party headed by Rahul Gandhi, the party which believes and stands for democracy, Secularism, Pluralism and the Constitution.
