Chennai, March 12 (IANS) Filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy says if offered an opportunity to direct the Hindi remake of his own Tamil film “Soodhu Kavvum”, released in 2013, he’d love to do it and will try to make it even better.
“There were things we couldn’t do in the original. I know for a fact that there won’t be such restrictions in Bollywood. Hence, I’d love to direct the Hindi version, because with the license to do anything, I can make it a better film,” Nalan told IANS.
“Soodhu Kavvum”, a story about four misfit kidnappers, is regarded as one of the best Tamil dark comedies in recent times.
The film’s Hindi remake rights were bought by director Rohit Shetty.
“I know the rights were bought by Rohit, but since then there’s been no update on the project. What I heard is that the makers are finding it difficult to put the right cast together,” he said.
