Lt Gen Prasad from Kodagu Appointed President’s Hon Surgeon
Madikeri: Lieutenant General B N B M Prasad, hailing from Biligeri in this taluk, has been appointed honorary surgeon for the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.

Lt Gen Prasad until now was the director general of hospital services (Armed Forces) and is one of the seniormost Army officers from Karnataka.
He is one of the topmost Pulmonary specialists and has presented a number of papers on the subject abroad. He has been in the military service for over three decades and has been decorated with many awards and distinctions like Seva Medal (SM) and Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM).
With the late Field Marshal during the last phase of his life
In the past, he has had the privilege of serving as the personal physician for the late Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, taking care of him until his final days. They had enjoyed a good rapport with each other.
