Chennai, Dec 22 (IANS) Director A.S. Ravi Kumar Chowdary’s excitement knew no bounds when he got an opportunity to work with actor Gopichand for the second time in his career in the forthcoming Telugu entertainer “Soukhyam”.
“It was Gopi who gave me a break in ‘Yagnam’, and I consider myself extremely lucky to have worked with him again,” Chowdary told IANS, adding that they never bonded on a professional level during the course of the shoot.
“We worked more on a personal level and our relationship was very friendly. It wasn’t like how usually a director and an actor get along. Whenever in doubt, both of us would sit down and clarify things,” he said.
Talking about the film, Ravi said: “It will be an out-and-out entertainer. It will be 80 percent entertainment and 20 percent action.”
The film, which releases in cinemas on Thursday, also stars Regina Cassandra, Brahmanandam, Posani Krishna Murali and Saptagiri in important roles.
“This is also my second film with Regina. I’m confident that her career will catapult to great heights post the release of this film,” he added.
The film also stars veteran actress Sowcar Janaki, and the director considered working with her an “honour”.
“It was absolutely amazing to work with her. She plays a fun character. She bridges the gap between the hero and heroine and helps in making the romance come alive between them. Even at this age, she acts with so much commitment,” he said.
