MAHE dedicates Dr TMA Pai Hospital to treat COVID-19 Positive Patients in Udupi
Udupi: “Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal has decided to dedicate Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi to treat COVID 19 patients”, said Dr H S Ballal, Pro-Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and G Jagadeesh deputy commissioner of Udupi district.
Addressing the joint press meet at the DC office on March 30, DC Jagadeesh said, “Manipal Academy of Higher Education, is taking all necessary steps to ensure that we are prepared well to face the challenge and threat posed by the growing pandemic of COVID 19. With the active support of the Udupi District administration and Govt of Karnataka, we have decided to dedicate Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi to treat all the positive COVID-19 patients”.
This is the first private hospital that has been dedicated to COVID-19 positive patients. The hospital will be giving free service to the patients. The Manipal management will not take any charges from the patients nor the state government.
Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi has 100 beds with 11 ICU beds, 15 HDU beds, 36 bed single rooms which can be used for isolation purpose, 43 general beds. Team of doctors from Kasturba Hospital and Dr TMA Pai Hospital, dedicated team of Nursing, Para medical staff and Housekeeping staff will be available 24X7.
Kasturba Hospital Manipal is currently treating 3 positive COVID-19 patients who were referred by Udupi District Hospital and Karkala Taluk Hospital.
MAHE, Manipal in association with Udupi District administration and Govt of Karnataka is privileged to be part of this war against COVID 19.
