Maintain Cleanliness in Mosques to Avoid Spreading of Coronavirus – A B Ibrahim

Bengaluru: To prevent the spread of Coronavirus and as a precautionary measure, the Secretary of the Minority Welfare, Haj and Wakf Board A B Ibrahim issued guidelines to the Mosques and Dargas to maintain cleanliness.

In his press release, A B Ibrahim stated, “Through the medical reports it is known that most of the Coronavirus suspects come from gulf countries. Many people go to the Holy tour to Mekka and while returning they suffer from COVID-19. In Kalaburgi an elderly man who returned from Umra died after being infected by the Coronavirus”.

A B Ibrahim further stated, “Those who have returned from Umra or come from the Gulf countries should remain at home in self-quarantine. By keeping in mind the health of other people who come to the Mosque for prayers, those who come from the Gulf countries should pray at home”.

A B Ibrahim also advised the concerned authorities of the Mosques not to use the air conditioners during the Namaz as there are chances of spreading the virus. Those who find difficulty in breathing, or suffer from cold, cough, fever or throat pain should not go to the Mosque, instead, they should pray at home. Senior citizens should also remain at home and do their prayers. Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait have suspended Friday prayers. The leaders of the local Mosques should unitedly take the decision on holding prayers and avoid people from gathering in Mosques or public places.
