Mainz held to 1-1 tie against Hannover in Bundesliga
Mainz (Germany): Mainz played to a 1-1 home draw with Hannover in Bundesliga action at the Opel Arena here.
German striker Hendrik Weydandt got Hannover on the scoreboard just 12 minutes into the game on Sunday, and the visiting side maintained its 1-0 advantage until the closing minutes, reports Xinhua news agency.
German right-back Daniel Brosinski managed to net Mainz’s 1-1 equalizer on a successful penalty attempt in the 89th minute.
Hannover defender Oliver Sorg was shown his second yellow card and was sent off the pitch in the 11th minute of the stoppage time.
With the tie, Mainz remained in the 10th spot in the standings with 19 points, while Hannover stayed in the 17th and second-to-last place with 10 points.
