State Minister UT Khader inaugurated the restaurant by cutting the ribbon along with guests of honor Sandalwood actor Diganth Manchale, mononymously known as Diganth (Happy New Year fame); Sandalwood actor Deepak Shetty; Ajay Alexander-Founder and CEO of ‘The Grand Indian Thali’- also joined by the directors of ‘The Grand Indian Thali’ namely- Ajmal Meethal, Haris Ebrahim, David Joseph, Ms Shabana Thaslin and Lohit Nair.

In his inaugural address Minister U T Khader said, ” We all know Mangaluru had the best non-vegetarian restaurants, but very much lacking in good veg restaurants. With the launching of ‘The Grand Indian Thali’ an exclusive vegetarian restaurant I am very much confident that the veg food lovers of Mangaluru and beyond, will satisfy their crave for real and good vegetarian cuisine here at this unique restaurant. The launching of this restaurant is good news for veg food lovers, and those who want to take a break from non-veg cuisine can now stop by at this restaurant, and feel the difference. ‘The Grand Indian Thali’ which has earned name and fame in Bengaluru, will surely do good here in Mangaluru, and also earn high praises from their customers. Actor Diganth also addressing the crowd said, ”Though my native place is Teerthahalli, I often visit Mangaluru since I have close ties, and I love Kudla food whenever my a pit-stop here. Even though I understand Tulu language, but not quite fluent in speaking.
