Malaga (Spain), Sep 14 (IANS) Hosts Malaga played out a goalless draw with Eibar in a La Liga match here.
The draw helped Eibar preserve its unbeaten start to the season at the La Rosaleda stadium on Sunday. It also extended Malaga’s scoreless streak to three matches, reports Efe.
It was the home team who took the initiative from the start playing quickly, while Eibar was held in its own territory early on and was unable to catch its rivals off guard.
Striker Charles Dias de Oliveira almost put Malaga forward just before halftime but his effort got saved.
The visitors’ best chance of the first half came from striker Adrian Gonzalez, whose overhead kick went narrowly wide.
Eibar came close to capturing a win after the break when substitute Borja Baston got a good chance but fired wide just four minutes before the final whistle.
Malaga got a final chance but Duje Cop missed while trying to produce a powerful shot.
