Man Arrested along with Stolen Truck
Mangaluru: A man along with the stolen truck was arrested by the Panambur police here on January 20.
The arrested has been identified as Mahesh Kotekoppa, from Ramnagar District Bengaluru.
According to the police, Mahesh joined as a driver for the truck owned by Henjarappa Siddappa. After joining he brought a load from Bengaluru to Mangaluru but he did not return to Bengaluru.
The lorry owner Henjarappa was worried about his vehicle since there wasn’t any information from Mahesh nor did he know where Mahesh nor the vehicle was. Henjarappa then came to Mangaluru in search of Mahesh but was not able to gather any information. So he approached the Panambur police station and filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint the Panambur police started to search for Mahesh. On January 20, while the Panambur police were checking vehicles at Mukka Tollgate, they found Mahesh along with the truck. During the inspection of the truck, the police found that the rear tyres and Tarpaulin of the truck was sold. The police seized the truck bearing registration number KA 51 A 0947 Tata 1109 truck worth Rs 7lakh, 1 mobile phone and cash Rs 9000 from Mahesh.
The operation was carried out by the Panambur police Inspector Rafiq along with Sub Inspector Umesh Kumar M N and police from the North Sub-division Anti-rowdy Squad.
