Man arrested in Diamond Ring and Currency Theft from Lobo Lane
Mangaluru: The Kadri police led by Police Inspector Maruti Nayak have arrested a man in connection with the theft case at a house on Lobo Lane, here on November 25.
The arrested has been identified as Yunus Mohammed alias Liyakat (36), a resident of Lobo Lane.
According to the police, between November 15 to 17, a diamond ring worth Rs 14 lakh and 700 British Pounds were stolen from the locker in the house. In this connection, a complaint was registered in the Kadri police station.
It is learnt that during the time of the theft, the house owner’s relatives, Yunus and his wife, were in town and had visited the house. After obtaining necessary information, Yunus was taken into custody for investigation.
The police later recovered the diamond ring and the currency which was exchanged for Rs 40,000 from Yunus’s possession.
Yunus was produced before the court, where he was remanded to judicial custody.
