Man Arrested in Monkey Stand Theft Case
Mangaluru: The Bunder (South) Police have arrested a man in Bantwal in connection with a theft case here, on July 4.
The arrested has been identified as Mohammed Bilal, a resident of Bantwal.
According to the police, between 6:30 pm on June 16 and 9:30 am the next day, miscreants stole four batteries, Rs 19,000 in cash and cheques of Syndicate and Bharath Bank from Subramanya Auto Engineering works, near Ramakrishna Ashram, Monkey Stand. In this connection, a case was registered in the South police station under IPC Sections 454, 457 and 380.
On July 4, after getting reliable information, Inspector of South police station Shantharam and Sub-inspector of Crime department Ananth Murdeshwar arrested Mohammed Bilal in Bantwal. The police seized 4 batteries worth Rs 42,000, a scooter which was used during the crime worth Rs 60,000 and Rs 15000 cash from his possession.
PSI Mohammed Sheriff, Vishwanath, Shekhar Gatti, Gangadhar, Dhananjay Gowda, Sathyanarayan, Nutan Kumar, Purushotham and Chandrashekar also took part in the operation.
