Man attempts Suicide at Netravati Bridge, Rescued
Mangaluru: A middle-aged man attempted to commit suicide by jumping off from the Netravati Bridge here on October 26.
Dayanand, a resident of Padil was prevented by Basheer Jeppu from committing suicide.
Speaking to mangalorean.com Basheer from Jeppu said, “I was on my two-wheeler to Ullal, when I reached near Netravati Bridge, I saw a man attempting to jump off the Bridge. I immediately stopped my two-wheeler and rushed near the man and caught hold of him and stopped him from jumping off the bridge.”
The police were informed and they reached the spot. When the police questioned him on why he had attempted to commit suicide, Dayanand said that his children are in Mumbai and he was not interested to live.
Later the Ullal police took him to the hospital for treatment.
