Man Attempts to Kill Girl for refusing to Love him
Dharmasthala: A man has been arrested by the Dharmasthala police for attempting to kill a girl in Neria here on July 30.
The arrested has been identified as Thomas from Dharmasthala.
On July 30, Priya (name changed) after finishing her work was going home with her younger sister. Both the sister’s travelled by bus to Aniyoor. From there they engaged their neighbour’s auto to travel home to Gundibagilu. While they were travelling by auto, Thomas followed them in his pick-up and crashed his pick-up into the auto which fell in the ditch. Immediately Thomas got out from his vehicle, pushed the auto driver biting his hand. Thomas also caught hold of Priya’s hair and threatened her saying, “If you will not love me I will kill you” and caught Priya’s neck. When Priya’s sister intervened, Thomas bit her lips and finger and injured her.
The locals gathered at the spot and protested against Thomas. They did not allow the police to seize the vehicle but demanded to arrest the accused and extern him from the district.
Police from Beltangady and Dharmasthala reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Thomas was arrested by the Dharmasthala police and his vehicle was also seized.
Accused Thomas was earlier involved in various crimes. He will be produced before the court and measures to extern him will also be taken.
Under the direction of SP Dr Ravikanthe Gowda, Additional SP Sajith and ASP Rishikesh, the Beltangady Circle Inspector Nagesh Kadri, Dharmasthala PSI Avinash and team arrested the accused under 354, 323 and 307 IPC.
