Man from Bhatkal Drowns in Netravati near Bantwal
Bantwal: Abdul Razaq (38) from Bhatkal had married Zainaba, daughter of Ibrahim of Sajipa Nadu village in the taluk seven years ago. Ever since, he had settled down.
He met a tragic end when he went to bathe in river Netravati on Saturday evening. Failing to gauge the depth of water, he sank in the slush.
Those nearby tried to save him but they failed in their attempt. Local divers, panchayat members and other residents, assisted by the police and the fire brigade, began a search operation. The body could be traced around 8-30 pm.
A case has been registered in the rural police station. He is survived by wife and two daughters.
