Man Dies in Kadthala from Accidental Gun Shot

Karkala: A man died after he was ‘accidentally shot by hunters in the forest at Kadthala near Ajekar of Karkala taluk on Thursday, June 15.

The deceased has been identified as Ravi a resident of Kadthala of Ajekar

According to sources, on Thursday morning Ravi was cutting a tree in the forest. At the same time, two persons were hunting in the area. While Ravi was cutting the tree, he heard the sound of gun shot in the forest. Thinking that the Forest Department staff were after him, while trying to flee from the spot, he was seriously injured by the gunshot from the hunters and died on the spot.

 

After getting the information, forest officials along with local police arrived at the spot. The Ajekar Police have arrested Jeethu and Sundar Naik for illegally entering the forest for hunting.

A case has been registered in the Ajekar Police Station.

A perfect example about how we abuse our natural wealth. A forest is protected, wild animals are protected but just for namesake. All three in this news are thieves in their own style. Tragic that one had to lose his life and other two will end up in jail.

We can’t call their family members to be orphans because all these years the very men raised the family out of income from theft. In other words, the family too is guilty, not victims. Then, who for the law is ?
