Man gets Life imprisonment for Killing Grandfather
Udupi: The district and session’s court on June 28, awarded life imprisonment to Ravi alias Raviraj Jain for killing his grandfather Nemiraj Poovani in December 2013.
The District and Sessions Judge passed the order on the point of sentence after hearing arguments and submissions of the counsel for the prosecution as well as the convict.
According to the public prosecutor, the accused murdered his grandfather by hitting him with a wooden club. He was later arrested by the Rural SI.
Ravi was jobless and wandering around and his grandfather Nemiraj Poovani was advising him to find a job and change his life, which he did not like.
Enraged by his grandfather’s advise from time to time, Ravi bought a wooden club and hit Nemiraj Poovani on the Head in the court yard. At the same time, he had also attacked and injured his aunt. Severely injured Nemiraj Poovani was taken to AJ Hospital where he breathed his last without responding to the treatment.
The Karkala circle inspector G M Raikar had submitted a detailed charge sheet to the court under IPC section 302, 324.
