Man Kills Friend and Attempts to Burn Body at Punchalakadu
Udupi: In a shocking incident a 45-year-old man was killed by his friend who later attempted to burn the body at Puchalakadu under the Shirva police station limits here on July 24 night.
The deceased has been identified as Hemanth Poojary (45), a resident of Mooluru near Yermal. The accused is identified as Albert D’Souza (50), a resident of Punchalakadu.
According to the Shirva police, Hemanth and Albert were good friends. On July 24, both had gone to the bar at Punchalkadu and consumed alcohol. Later both went to Albert’s house, and there they fought over some issue following which Albert killed Hemanth using a lethal weapon. After killing Hemanth, Albert tried to set Hemanth’s body on fire. The locals immediately alerted the Shirva police.
Shirva PSI Srishaila Dundappa and team arrived at the spot and arrested the accused.
A case has been registered in the Shirva Police Station and investigation is on.
