Mangalore City Police Conducts Raid at City Jail, 25 Mobiles and Ganja Seized
Mangaluru: The Mangalore City Police, under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Anupam Agrawal, conducted a surprise raid on the Mangalore City Jail Barracks in the early hours of July 25.
The operation, which began at 4 am, involved 2 DCPs, 3 ACPs, 15 PIs, and around 150 personnel. Multiple teams were formed to cover all the blocks in the jail simultaneously, with the secrecy of the raid maintained until the last moment to ensure its effectiveness.
During the search, the following items were seized: 25 mobile phones, 1 Bluetooth device, 5 earphones, 1 pen drive, 5 chargers, 1 pair of scissors, 3 cables, and multiple packets of Ganja and other drugs.
This operation underscores the department’s ongoing commitment to maintaining security and preventing illegal activities within the jail.
Further investigations are underway to determine how these items were brought into the jail.
