Mangalore Diocese Disowns Unofficial Catholic Representation by Robert Rosario – PRO
Mangaluru: The Catholic Diocese of Mangalore issued a press statement to clarify and disassociate themselves from Robert Rosario, who has been presenting himself as a Catholic leader and participating in various media debates without official authorization. The Diocese wishes to make it clear that Robert Rosario is neither asked nor authorized by the official diocesan authorities to represent the Catholic community. While individuals may express their opinions and beliefs, Robert Rosario claiming to be a leader representing all Catholics is wholly false and misleading.
As of the issuance of this press release, the Diocese of Mangalore would like to emphasize that Robert Rosario is acting solely in an individual capacity. The Diocese does not endorse his views or statements as representative of the Catholic community at large. Any claims made by him suggesting official endorsement or authorization by the diocesan authorities are unequivocally untrue. The Diocese of Mangalore takes this opportunity to remind the public and the media that only individuals duly appointed and recognized by the official diocesan authorities have the authority to speak on behalf of the Catholic community.
Any representation to the contrary should be treated as misinformation and not acceptable to the diocesan authorities. We kindly request the media and the public to take note of this clarification and to refrain from attributing any statements or positions to Robert Rosario or any other person as representative of the Catholic community.
The Diocese remains committed to promoting accurate information ensuring that the faith and beliefs of its members are accurately represented by the official persons.
The press release was jointly issued by the PROs of Mangalore Diocese Fr J B Saldanha and Roy Castelino.
